   In "King of Nothing Hill" Barry Adamson surprises. Already on the cover of the CD the "hints" are obvious: the artwork is a direct reference to 70's funk-psychedelia, and if you take a look inside (in the booklet) you will notice a photo of Barry's that looks like he has gone Shafty/5(5).

   Only one track seems out of place, and somewhat of adisappointment: When Darkness Calls has a strongverse, but no real sense of direction. The King of Nothing Hill is a classic album, andeclipses many recent releases in terms ofmusical writing and breadth .

   The King of Nothing Hill seamlessly blends funk, jazz, rock, disco, and '60s French pop while swapping street tales with the listener.
