Feb 22,  · It's very logical - he did have legal training (I think that would have been church law if I'm not mistaken) before his conversion. I wonder if Alexander was one of the Jews who followed Paul around making trouble in all the cities he went to. Sort of a 1st Century Fred Phelps.

The next verse relates that he (Alexander) greatly withstood Paul's words, opposing his message, and the verse after that is clearly about Paul's trial, saying he had nobody to support him during it. On this view Alexander was a principal and effective opponent of Paul and probably a witness, and major complainant, against him.

Oct 07,  · Paul went on to note that the entire human race derives its existence from God, and that God “gives life, breath, and everything else” to us. Again, Paul’s listeners would have nodded their heads in agreement. At this point what Paul said was consistent with similar conceptions of God held by other Greek philosophers.

First of all, the case against Paul, as described in Acts, was not very strong. When Paul was initially tried before the procurator Felix in Caesarea a few years earlier, three charges had been made (Acts ): · Paul had been the cause of riots all over the (Greco-Roman) world. · Paul was the ringleader of a dangerous Jewish sect.

Mar 25,  · PAUL: Well, we were doing this oriental number and I looked like Cyd Charisse. Oh, oh, Anna May Wong, Anna May Wong. Oh, oh, Anna May Wong, Anna May Wong. I had these two great big chrysanthemums on either side my head and a huge headdress with gold balls hanging all over it.
